What is your why?
Why did you decide to do the hard work of creating your own side hustle or go all-in with starting your own business? Was it purely money or something deeper. I have been asked this many times and haven't always had or understood my why.
As a single mother, I have had seasons where I am living paycheck to paycheck, where I don't know how I will afford another month, and also seasons of plenty. Of course, the first two seasons have made me incredibly grateful for the plenty, but it has also made me aware that life and happiness are much more than just the seasons of plenty.
You see, the seasons of plenty do not necessarily guarantee joy, peace, or any type of happiness. Sure, there might be some things that you will be able to afford, but as I tell my son, this is very short-lived, and soon you're looking for the next thing never really enjoying life. This is especially true when you are working for the plenty instead of having the plenty work for you.
Discovering the joy that comes from being able to help others when they can't figure something out or make someone's life easier by creating systems that work for their unique situation is amazing to me. I have always enjoyed watching any type of transformation. As a matter of fact, being that I love organization and systems, I have, many times, from a very young age, organized rooms for those who need the extra help. Our minds can become so overwhelmed that it does not allow for the vision of what it can be or the solution that can be so life-changing. Sometimes all we need is someone to come alongside us and walk the journey with us to the solution.
So, through my own journey of self-discovery and building a life I love, this has become my why. The coming alongside someone, evaluating the situation, and finding solutions that bring clarity and space for the vision of the life you love.
Your turn.
