It is designed to protect your vehicle from depreciation in the eyes of the insurance company for up to 5 years after purchase.

FOR EXAMPLE

Dads, when you hit your midlife crisis and buy that brand new 2026 Pickup truck! If your agent added this coverage, you will be THANKFUL in the event of a total loss 3 years later. Instead of replacing you with value of a 2026 model, they will use the value of a 2029 model.

Next time you buy a shiny new toy, ask your agent about repair/replacement coverage and be covered correctly!
