This is the most comprehensive and thorough article on the subject of homeowners insurance rates that I’ve seen in some time, and the figures are current. There are a lot of good pointers as well for homeowners.

Oklahoma has exceeded all other states in average premium by a fairly large margin now. Keep in mind, the dwelling coverage amount of your home is not based on its value, but the cost to replace/rebuild/repair, and that changes very little from one region of the country to the next.
My average homeowners rate when I sold my agency in Oklahoma in 2008 was about $1200, it is now almost $6000.

Colorado ranks among several other southern and midwestern states as containing some of the highest rates nationally. We are currently experiencing the tightest market I’ve ever seen in my career. There has never been a time in which having an experienced agent working for you, has been more valuable.

At SCP Insurance Group Every Week is Teacher Appreciation Week and that was never more true than last week!!
We had approximately 50 Douglas County School District staff join us for our holiday, teacher appreciation event this past Friday at Lincoln Station Coffee Pizza Music.
I had this idea several months ago, and slowly put the necessary pieces together to make this such a successful event. There is no way, I could have done this without the help of several local business-owners. It truly was a community event!
There is no more deserving group of people than our educators for us to celebrate. What they do everyday for this community mostly goes unnoticed but that doesn’t stop their endless energy and drive they devote to our kids everyday.
We had food, drinks, live music, massage chairs, and over a dozen prizes donated by local businesses.
We’re just getting started!

Another week, another school. 75 educators received bagels from us today at Pioneer Elementary. We are still doing this every week that school is in session. We won’t stop till every teacher in our community receives a bagel.

When you're an agent and you need to file a claim, you pay very close attention to the service you receive. This past weekend my wifes car battery died and we could not jump it, nor could we get the car into neutral so I had to get it towed to a local auto service provider. I signed into my online Safeco account and made a roadside claim online. It was very quick and easy. They provided a link to my email and my phone that allowed me to track the tow truck and provided a time that it would arrive. Quality Tow was on time, and very friendly. The guys were great to work with and I was impressed at how they maneuvered to get my wifes car out of the garage. The car was towed to the nearest Service Street location in Parker. Service Street was awesome to deal with. They had the vehicle done within a couple hours and their price was very fair. Safeco, Quality Tow, and Service Street all did an awesome job!
