The 2025 Atlantic Hurricane Season Officially Begins

With the turn of the calendar to a new month, so begins hurricane season. As with the last several seasons, an above-normal amount of activity is forecast. Regardless of how many storms actually form, it only takes one storm impacting Horry County to make it a bad season.

Horry County Emergency Management encourages residents to prepare for tropical weather before any storms are in our forecast. Taking the time to prepare now will provide the best chances of mitigating impacts and recovering faster.
