⛈️ Storms are in the forecast today. Do you know what to do if you encounter a stop light that has become inactive due to a power outage?

02/19/2026

⚠️UPGRADE to level 3/5 severe risk today!

HAZARDS:
-Damaging winds to 60-65mph
-Large Hail up to 1.50" in diameter (Ping Pong Ball Size)
-Several tornadoes, some could be strong in the orange zone

TIMING:
2pm through 11pm ET

DISCUSSION:
Ingredients are becoming increasingly favorable for an all hazards severe weather threat across much of the state. Storm fuel and wind shear are increasing for southern counties, which has further raised concerns for a more scattered to widespread threat of severe weather. While the entire state has a risk today, we are keyed in on the enhanced risk in orange, as a couple strong EF-2+ tornadoes may occur today within this zone in particular.

Have multiple ways to receive warnings. We will be LIVE around 2-3pm ET here on Facebook and YouTube to cover this event in it's entirety with both storm chasers in the field and radar updates.

Good morning Hoosiers! Very few changes have occurred since last night's travel alert update. Here is a look at how things stand as of 6:45am ET here on January 26th 2026.

Rural roads are bad, main highways are either two track or still snow covered, and several reports of crashes and slide offs already have hit our inbox this morning.

Please drive safely if you must be out on the roads today.

Advisory:🟨
The lowest level of local travel advisory, means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and individuals should use caution or avoid these areas.

Watch:🟧
Means that conditions are threatening to the safety of the public. During a "watch" local travel advisory, only essential travel, such as to and from work or in emergency situations, is recommended, and emergency action plans should be implemented by businesses, schools, government agencies and other organizations.

Warning:🟥
The highest level of local travel advisory means that travel may be restricted to emergency management workers only. During a "warning" local travel advisory, individuals are directed to:
Refrain from all travel;
Comply with necessary emergency measures;
Cooperate with public officials and disaster services forces in executing emergency operations plans; and
Obey and comply with the lawful directions of properly identified officers

More snow is on its way for Indiana tonight. A widespread 1-4" of accumulation is expected with snow starting around 6pm ET tonight and ending around 5am ET Tuesday morning.

While this is not a major snow event, it will still be impactful to area roads. Expect slick conditions late this evening through the night into Tuesday morning for your commute. Drive safe!

Timing maps will be posted a little later this morning.
