Let's talk credit score! ↗️ A score of 800 or above will have access to the best rates on the market, and a score above 700 is also a good sign for securing a loan.

If you have your eye on a new mortgage this year, let's work on that credit score. Here are a few ways to raise it sooner rather than later:

1) Increase your credit card spending limit.
2) Keep your credit card total usage below 30% at any given time.
3) Keep your old credit cards open - the longer the line of credit, the better.
4) Pay off your credit card balance every month (an obvious one, but it's important!) and avoid applying for new credit.
5) Become an authorized user on your partners credit card.

These simple steps will get you moving in the right direction for your big move!

If your home is feeling a bit drafty this winter, you may need to do a few simple steps to warm it up! It's not uncommon for homes, especially older homes, to feel too cool during the winter months. And no, you don't need to run out to buy a new furnace! 👏

☃️ Make sure heating vents are open in high-traffic rooms and closed in rooms you do not enter frequently.

☃️ Add a door draft stopper to your front door, back door, as well as your garage.

☃️ Replace old caulking on your windows and add weatherstripping.

☃️ Open curtains during the day to let the sunlight beam in.

☃️ If you haven't inspected your insulation in a few years, it might be time to climb into your attic and ensure you're well insulated.

☃️ If you haven't already installed a smart thermostat, now would be the time! This way you can have more temperature control throughout the day.
