The room could have questionable carpet, two channels on the TV, and an air conditioner that sounded like a tractor.

But if Dad pulled into a motel and we spotted a swimming pool, it was officially a luxury vacation. 😂

We’d be asking to go swimming before the suitcases were even out of the car.

Who else judged every childhood motel entirely by whether it had a pool?
