He compares what you send against your existing coverage, then comes back with either a written summary or a suggestion that the two of you talk it through. There's no obligation attached to that first step, and nothing gets decided without you.

While you're pulling things together, keep an eye on the mail. If you're on a Medicare Advantage or Part D plan, your carrier sends an Annual Notice of Change by September 30, and that letter explains what's different about your plan for next year.
