One of the things Sheryl appreciates most about volunteering at The Gathering Place is getting a close-up look at the good happening across Lincoln. “You see so many people giving their time, sharing a meal, and looking out for one another. It’s a good reminder of how much people care about this city.”

A little insurance history made its way into Sheryl’s vacation with a visit to Lloyd’s of London.

Lloyd’s traces its beginnings back to Edward Lloyd’s Coffee House in the late 1600s, where merchants, shipowners, and underwriters gathered to exchange shipping news and discuss maritime risk. Those conversations helped shape one of the most recognized names in insurance.
