You're invited to help us celebrate the brand-new building at our Plattsmouth Highway Branch at our grand opening on Tuesday, June 9th from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM! Enjoy refreshments and hors d'oeuvres, meet our team, explore the new space, and join us for a ribbon cutting at 5:00.

Parking at the branch is limited. Additional parking is available across 1st Ave, north of the branch in the Burger King parking lot and Keeler & Associates parking lot.

Please note that both the lobby and drive-thru will close early at 3:30 PM on June 9th so our staff can prepare for the event.

Our Pet Adoption Day with Saunders County Lost Pets is coming up on Thursday, June 4th from 9:00 AM - 1:00 PM at our Yutan branch! Stop by to meet adoptable dogs and cats looking for their forever homes.

First State will cover the adoption fee for all pets adopted during the event, and adopted pets will receive a special goodie bag! We're also still accepting donations for SCLP in the Yutan branch lobby through June 4th. We hope to see you on Thursday!

⬆️Moving up Monday⬆️

Congratulations on Trevor Ozenbaugh on his promotion from Intern to Management Trainee!

Trevor has been part of the First State family for the past four years, completing several internships while attending college, and we're excited to officially welcome him full-time. Trevor says one of the things he appreciates most about First State is the personal feel of the organization and genuine relationships he's built with coworkers along the way. He also shared that he appreciates how First State has helped maximize his strengths by putting him in positions where he can take ownership of projects and continue developing his skills.

As he begins his new role, Trevor is looking forward to learning more about the bank as a whole. During his first few months, he'll spend time working with different departments, learning about their roles, and assisting with projects across the organization.

Outside of work, Trevor enjoys staying active and spending time with friends. He's a fan of football and basketball and also enjoys playing spike ball, disc golf, and pickleball.

Congratulations, Trevor! We're excited to see all you accomplish in your new role and look forward to watching your career continue to grow at First State.

Congratulations to Stephanie Mencl on 25 years with First State!

Steph's journey with First State began the summer after her junior year of high school, when curiosity about the banking industry led her to apply for a summer position close to home. What started as a way to help cover gas money quickly became a career she truly enjoys. Throughout college, Steph was able to continue growing within the organization and building a strong foundation for her future.

Over the years, she's had the opportunity to work in nearly every department of the bank, giving her a deep understand of how each area works together. Steph says the relationships she has built across the organization are a big reason she has stayed for so long. She appreciates the opportunities for learning and growth that First State has consistently provided, sharing that the bank has always encouraged her development as both a professional and a leader.

Fun traditions like dressing up for Halloween to memorable moments working together during the conversion while staying six feet apart during Covid, Steph says there are simply too many great memories to count. Looking ahead, she is excited for her new role, which brings her back to her roots—working directly with customers and deposit accounts. Steph is looking forward to building relationships with both new and existing customers and continuing to provide the service First State is known for.

✨Intern Spotlight✨

Today we're putting the spotlight on Peter Rygg!

Peter is from Omaha, Nebraska and is currently majoring in Finance and Economics through the Nebraska Business Honors Academy. This summer, he is serving as a CSR Intern in the Douglas and Cass regions, where he's gaining valuable frontline experience handling cash, serving customers, and learning more about the loans and lending side of banking.

Peter shared that he is most excited about learning more about the different departments within the bank and expanding his knowledge of loans and how they work. He's also looking forward to building strong workplace connections while helping serve and satisfy customers each day.

Outside of work, Peter enjoys golfing, playing sand volleyball, running, working out, and hanging out with friends.

Welcome to the team, Peter! We're excited to have you at First State and look forward to seeing all you accomplish this summer!
