Job #2- Music Bingo host

This is probably my most fun job that I have. On Tuesday evenings you can find me at The Upside Bar in South Lincoln from 7-9 PM playing great tunes and giving out great prizes at one of Lincoln's best small bars.

On Wednesday evenings from 7-9 I am at Backswing Brewing in West Lincoln doing the same thing. I will often sub for others, or work private events on Thursday evenings and the weekends.

Music Bingo is one of those "escape" jobs where you can leave your stresses behind and just have a great time around great people with great music. It is truly a job where it often doesn't feel like a job, and it helps to have the best boss man around. Hope to see you out at one of my events sometime soon!!!

I’m not just an insurance agent… even though that’s my full-time job. I wear a few hats, and this week I’m taking you along for the ride through my different jobs!

On Tuesdays (and some show days), I work the Box Office at Pinnacle Bank Arena. If you didn’t know, you can buy tickets for PBA shows and Pinewood Bowl events right at the Box Office on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 11–6, or before any show. If you hate the crazy ticketing fees online, you’ll love this — purchasing in person usually means much lower fees.

This job is a blast because it gets me out of the house, lets me meet all kinds of great people, and I can still knock out insurance work between customers. My favorite part? Working state basketball and volleyball games and feeling all that excitement when a great season comes together. I also love being part of show days, even if it’s just a small role. This gig has also kept me connected with so many awesome friends over the years.

Hey friends and neighbors! Just wanted to share a quick update from MacMeyer Insurance. Our companies have made some positive rate adjustments lately, and it’s made us really competitive right now. A lot of people we’ve helped have been saving money on their policies.

With storm season already halfway over, it’s a great time to double-check your coverage. I’m always happy to review your current policy — no pressure at all. I’ll make sure you’re properly covered and that you understand exactly what’s in it.

If you’re looking to save some money, or you’d just prefer a local agent who treats you like family, reach out anytime. I’d love to help however I can!

Recent Nebraska Storms: Protect Your Home & Avoid Costly Mistakes With the recent rounds of severe weather across Nebraska bringing hail, strong winds, and damage, many homeowners are dealing with roof concerns right now. At MacMeyer Insurance, we want to help you make smart decisions during storm season. Here are some important tips:
- Get a local roofer to inspect your roof — Skip the out-of-town storm chasers. Trusted local professionals know Nebraska homes and will give you honest advice without the high-pressure sales.
- No immediate leak? Consider waiting. If your roof has damage but isn't leaking right now, it may be smart to hold off until the end of storm season. Filing two claims (and paying two deductibles) in the same year is no fun!
- Keep good records. Save documentation showing the year your roof was replaced or last repaired. This can make a big difference when filing a claim.
- Notify us right away. Contact your MacMeyer Insurance agent as soon as you notice potential damage so we can guide you through the process.
- Know your roof coverage. Policies vary! Some companies depreciate the roof value immediately, while others start depreciation after 10 or even 15 years. Make sure you understand and are comfortable with how your policy works for replacing your roof.

If you have any questions about your roof, or policy in general, give me a call or shoot me a message and I would be happy to look into it for you whether you are a client or not!

I can't begin to imagine the many different thoughts and emotions that went through the minds of those who saw this 82 years ago. Many of them too young to drink, but old enough to die for their country.

On this D-Day anniversary, we remember the extraordinary bravery of those who landed on Normandy’s shores 82 years ago today. Their sacrifice secured our freedom. Thank you to all who served. We will never forget.

if you belive you may have hail damage, I am happy to file a claim for you but it is always a good idea to have it inspected by a professional roofer first to ensure a claim is valid. I highly recommend going with a local company. I can recommend a few companies if you'd like!

And just like that, storm season is here. No one can control the weather but mitigating potential damage and risk is a big part of the season. Here are just a few things you can do to reduce risk this storm season:

For Hail & Wind Protection:Regularly inspect & maintain your roof—fix loose shingles early and consider impact-resistant (Class 4) shingles when it's time to replace.
Trim overhanging tree branches to prevent them from breaking and damaging your roof or windows.
Install storm shutters or impact-resistant windows if you're in a hail-prone area.
Park vehicles in a garage or under cover—hail dents add up fast!

For Flood & Water Damage Prevention:Keep gutters and downspouts clear of debris so water flows away from your foundation.
Elevate utilities (like HVAC, electrical panels) if you're in a flood-risk zone.
Consider a sump pump with battery backup for basements.
Move valuables and important documents to higher ground when heavy rain is forecast.

Pro tip: Standard homeowners insurance usually covers hail and wind damage, but flooding is typically separate—check if you have (or need) flood coverage through the NFIP or a private policy. We're happy to review your coverage anytime! Feel free to contact me anytime!

Warm weather + Husker season = best combo 😎☀️
These sunny days have me smiling, and so does watching Nebraska baseball and softball get underway, plus both basketball teams playing out of their minds and looking ready to make noise in the NCAA Tournament!

New year chaos is done — now I’m pumped to catch up with past clients and help new ones too.
Want to see if you can save on insurance? Need a second look at your coverage? Just have questions? Hit me up.

Comment “interested” or shoot me a message — let’s talk while the good vibes (and Husker momentum) are rolling! 🔥🏀⚾

**Option 3 – Friendly & community-focused**

Who else is soaking up this gorgeous warm weather?! 🌞
It’s like optimism is literally in the air — and with Nebraska baseball & softball starting up, plus both men’s and women’s basketball teams having monster seasons and looking tournament-ready… it’s hard not to feel the excitement around here!

Now that the start-of-year stuff is behind us, I’d love to reconnect with past clients I haven’t talked to in a while — and I’m just as excited to meet new people too.
My favorite thing is helping folks save money where possible, making sure your insurance actually fits your life right now, and being a no-stress resource for any questions.

If that sounds useful (or if you know someone who could use a quick policy review), drop a comment, send me a DM, or tag a friend below.
Here’s to sunny days, Husker success, and feeling confident about what’s ahead! 🌽🏀⚾💬
