**A Personal Reflection on 9/11**
Today, September 11, 2025, I’m reflecting on a day that changed my life. Twenty-four years ago, I was a 7th grader, watching the news on a grainy classroom TV. I didn’t understand why the towers were falling or why everyone was so quiet. It was scary and confusing, like the world stopped making sense. I didn’t get the politics or the bigger picture—just that something terrible had happened.
That day shaped me in ways I couldn’t imagine back then. It led me to join the military, to serve our country with pride. I was deployed to Djibouti and Guantanamo Bay, places I never thought I’d see, working with incredible people to keep our nation safe. Those experiences taught me how fragile life can be—one moment can change everything. But they also showed me how to appreciate every day, every hug, every sunrise a little more.
Now, I carry those lessons with me. I’m proud to live in this great country, where we come together in tough times, rebuild, and keep moving forward. Today, I’m thinking of the lives lost, the heroes who stepped up, and the strength of our communities. Let’s hold our loved ones close and never take a single day for granted.
