if you belive you may have hail damage, I am happy to file a claim for you but it is always a good idea to have it inspected by a professional roofer first to ensure a claim is valid. I highly recommend going with a local company. I can recommend a few companies if you'd like!

And just like that, storm season is here. No one can control the weather but mitigating potential damage and risk is a big part of the season. Here are just a few things you can do to reduce risk this storm season:

For Hail & Wind Protection:Regularly inspect & maintain your roof—fix loose shingles early and consider impact-resistant (Class 4) shingles when it's time to replace.
Trim overhanging tree branches to prevent them from breaking and damaging your roof or windows.
Install storm shutters or impact-resistant windows if you're in a hail-prone area.
Park vehicles in a garage or under cover—hail dents add up fast!

For Flood & Water Damage Prevention:Keep gutters and downspouts clear of debris so water flows away from your foundation.
Elevate utilities (like HVAC, electrical panels) if you're in a flood-risk zone.
Consider a sump pump with battery backup for basements.
Move valuables and important documents to higher ground when heavy rain is forecast.

Pro tip: Standard homeowners insurance usually covers hail and wind damage, but flooding is typically separate—check if you have (or need) flood coverage through the NFIP or a private policy. We're happy to review your coverage anytime! Feel free to contact me anytime!

Warm weather + Husker season = best combo 😎☀️
These sunny days have me smiling, and so does watching Nebraska baseball and softball get underway, plus both basketball teams playing out of their minds and looking ready to make noise in the NCAA Tournament!

New year chaos is done — now I’m pumped to catch up with past clients and help new ones too.
Want to see if you can save on insurance? Need a second look at your coverage? Just have questions? Hit me up.

Comment “interested” or shoot me a message — let’s talk while the good vibes (and Husker momentum) are rolling! 🔥🏀⚾

**Option 3 – Friendly & community-focused**

Who else is soaking up this gorgeous warm weather?! 🌞
It’s like optimism is literally in the air — and with Nebraska baseball & softball starting up, plus both men’s and women’s basketball teams having monster seasons and looking tournament-ready… it’s hard not to feel the excitement around here!

Now that the start-of-year stuff is behind us, I’d love to reconnect with past clients I haven’t talked to in a while — and I’m just as excited to meet new people too.
My favorite thing is helping folks save money where possible, making sure your insurance actually fits your life right now, and being a no-stress resource for any questions.

If that sounds useful (or if you know someone who could use a quick policy review), drop a comment, send me a DM, or tag a friend below.
Here’s to sunny days, Husker success, and feeling confident about what’s ahead! 🌽🏀⚾💬

Not a business post :-)

One of the things I love most about being in the insurance business?
I get a built-in reason to sit down face-to-face with people at least once a year. Life gets busy. Kids, work, new responsibilities… it’s so easy to lose touch with friends we care about. But there’s something special about carving out an hour to catch up with someone you haven’t seen in a while. Just talking, laughing, hearing what’s new—it matters more than we usually admit. So here’s a gentle nudge:

Next time an old friend pops into your mind, don’t just wonder how they’re doing.

Send the text. Make the call. Grab coffee/lunch. Those small moments with the people who matter are what make life rich.

What life is worth living without having passion for something?

One of my passions is Husker sports ..& basketall is at the top. I love it for many reasons but one of best parts, is I get to share that passion, the moments, and the pre and post game conversations with my equally as passionate wife. We've had season tickets for 10 years and win or lose, the games are the highlight of my winter because of the memories we've made. From Memphis, to Texas..and even Vegas we've followed our team and had so much fun along the way! Make sure you chase those passions in your life and remember to enjoy as much as you can...life is too short to be grumpy.

Oh...and always remember to just have fun in life....and its ok to be a little crazy sometimes. Have a great Tuesday and as always...GO BIG RED!!!

Good chance of hail tonight. If you have damage, have a local hail adjuster take a look at the damage and give you an honest assessment. If they agree there is damage, go ahead and file the claim. I am out of the officer for the next 2 weeks but I'm available by text if need be!

Latest large hail risk now includes a hatched area, meaning the potential is there for hail to be up to 2" in diameter this evening (September 22, 2025).

**A Personal Reflection on 9/11**

Today, September 11, 2025, I’m reflecting on a day that changed my life. Twenty-four years ago, I was a 7th grader, watching the news on a grainy classroom TV. I didn’t understand why the towers were falling or why everyone was so quiet. It was scary and confusing, like the world stopped making sense. I didn’t get the politics or the bigger picture—just that something terrible had happened.

That day shaped me in ways I couldn’t imagine back then. It led me to join the military, to serve our country with pride. I was deployed to Djibouti and Guantanamo Bay, places I never thought I’d see, working with incredible people to keep our nation safe. Those experiences taught me how fragile life can be—one moment can change everything. But they also showed me how to appreciate every day, every hug, every sunrise a little more.

Now, I carry those lessons with me. I’m proud to live in this great country, where we come together in tough times, rebuild, and keep moving forward. Today, I’m thinking of the lives lost, the heroes who stepped up, and the strength of our communities. Let’s hold our loved ones close and never take a single day for granted.

Wow, did you see the storm that hit this morning? I hope everyone is safe! If you need to file a claim, your deductible will be based on your wind and hail coverage. Not sure what that is? Reach out to us at MacMeyer Insurance, and we’ll help clarify.

For roof inspections, we recommend contacting local roofers you trust. They’ll provide the most honest and accurate assessment of your situation. Stay safe, and we’re here to assist!
