If you’re turning 65 soon and are unsure about what it means to enroll in Medicare, you are not alone. One of the most common questions we hear from those nearing retirement is around the timeline for signing up for Medicare.

So, we wanted to share a few important reminders to help you stay on track:

✅Know your enrollment window. Your initial enrollment window lasts for seven months — three months before your 65th birthday, your birthday month, and three months after your birthday. Enrolling early in this timeframe can help ensure your coverage begins right when you need it.

✅Understand how to sign up. Some individuals are automatically enrolled in Original Medicare, while others need to take action themselves to enroll in Original Medicare. This often depends on whether you are already receiving Social Security benefits.

✅Do not delay without a plan. Waiting too long to enroll without qualifying coverage can result in delayed coverage start dates and ongoing late-enrollment penalties.

✅Be aware of other options. If you are still working and covered under an employer plan, you may qualify for a Special Enrollment Period that can allow you to defer your enrollment. However, missing all enrollment windows can limit your options and increase costs, so it's best to clarify this early.

Medicare decisions can feel overwhelming, but you do not have to navigate them alone. Whether you are approaching 65 or are simply evaluating your options, contact us for guidance tailored to your situation.

When unexpected health events happen, medical bills shouldn’t be an extra worry. That’s where supplemental insurance comes in, adding a financial safety net on top of your regular health coverage.

Here’s a quick breakdown of three common types and how they differ:

✅ Accident Insurance - Pays you cash benefits after accidental injuries like a fall, fracture, or car crash. You can use the money for hospital visits, therapy, or any other expenses while you recover.

✅ Critical Illness Insurance - Provides a lump-sum payment if you’re diagnosed with a serious condition such as cancer, heart attack, or stroke. The funds go directly to you, covering treatment, lost income, or even household bills.

✅ Hospital Indemnity Insurance - Offers a set cash benefit for each day you’re hospitalized. It helps with costs your primary plan may not fully cover, including co-pays and other daily expenses.

Even with strong health insurance, major health events can be financially devastating — and your finances should be the last thing on your mind.

If you’d like help reviewing your coverage or exploring supplemental options, give our office a call. We’re here to help you find the right fit.

When your pet is suddenly sick or injured, it can be incredibly stressful and overwhelming. In those moments, the last thing you should be worried about is how to afford their care.

Pet insurance helps ease the financial burden by reimbursing 70%–90% of covered veterinary care costs. There are a variety of pet insurance plans that can meet you and your pet’s individual needs, ranging from accident-only coverage to comprehensive coverage for accidents, injuries, and more.

Since vet costs have risen by nearly 60% over the last decade, more pet owners are turning to insurance for both protection and comfort. If you’re wondering what kind of plan is right for your pet, give us a call. We’re here to walk you through it.

Missed the Medicare Annual Enrollment Period? You might still have options.

If you didn’t enroll during the main window, there may be other opportunities to get covered:

✅ Medicare Advantage Open Enrollment (January 1–March 31): Switch to a different Advantage Plan or return to Original Medicare — if you're already in a Medicare Advantage Plan.

✅ Special Enrollment Periods: Life changes like moving or losing coverage may qualify you for a SEP.

✅ Medigap Enrollment: Recently turned 65? You may still be within your six-month Medigap window for supplemental coverage.

Medicare can be complex, but you don’t have to figure it out alone. Contact us today for assistance in reviewing your situation and exploring your current options.
