π¨ Flood Insurance PSA π¨
With all of the recent heavy rain, Iβve had a lot of questions about flood insurance, so I wanted to clear up some common misconceptions:
π§ Flood insurance is NOT included in your regular homeowners insurance policy. It is a completely separate policy that must be purchased on its own.
β³ Flood insurance does not go into effect immediately. In most cases, there is a 30-day waiting period from the date the policy is purchased and paid for before coverage begins.
π° Flood insurance must be paid in full at the time of purchase.
β οΈ The most important thing to remember: You cannot wait until a storm is headed your way or flood waters are rising to get coverage. By then, it is too late.
Whether youβre in a high-risk flood zone or not, flooding can happen almost anywhere after significant rainfall. Itβs always better to understand your options before you need them.
If youβd like a flood insurance quote or want to see if flood coverage makes sense for your home, send me a message and Iβd be happy to help!
