I think about this a lot in my work — almost 28 years of sitting across from people from all ages and all walks of life during their best days and their worst ones. The thing I’ve noticed: nobody ever regrets being over-prepared. They regret waiting.

🚨 Wildfire Alert – Upriver Area 🚨

A fast-moving wildfire is burning in the area of 6400 E. Upriver Drive, spreading to the north and east. This has been upgraded to a third-alarm fire, with multiple agencies working together on suppression efforts. Aircraft are actively operating above the fire area.

Please avoid the area and do not stop to watch operations. Keeping roadways clear helps emergency responders access the scene safely and efficiently.

For evacuation notifications, follow directions from Spokane County Emergency Management. Use official sources for evacuation information and updates.

One of the things I L❤️VE most about living in the Pacific Northwest is that a little peace and quiet is never far away.

No cell service… just a river, a fly rod, and fish that seem to enjoy ignoring me. 😆

Whether it’s the mountains, lakes, rivers, trails, or sunsets, we’re incredibly fortunate to call this part of the country home. Days like this are a reminder to slow down, breathe in the fresh air, and appreciate ALL the beauty right in our backyard.
