🌎 GROWING MORE THAN GRADUATES: A Durable Skills Community Event

Preparing students for their future takes more than academics—and it takes more than schools. 💙💛

This year, Carter County Schools is placing an intentional focus on the durable skills our students need to thrive wherever life takes them: skills like communication, collaboration, critical thinking, creativity, fortitude, leadership, growth mindset, character, mindfulness, and metacognition.

But here's the important part: our students don't develop these skills only inside a classroom.

They develop them on ball fields and courts. In churches and community organizations. At the doctor's office. In local businesses. At home. And through relationships with the adults throughout our community who encourage, mentor, employ, coach, teach, and believe in them.

That's why we're inviting YOU to join us for Growing More Than Graduates, a community conversation about how we can work together to prepare our students not just for the next grade—but for life beyond graduation. ✈️

📍 Tuesday, August 25 | 6:00 PM
First Church of Christ — Grayson
Downstairs in the main church; use the carport entrance.

📍 Thursday, August 27 | 6:00 PM
First Christian Church — Olive Hill

Choose whichever event is most convenient for you!

We especially invite families, coaches, business owners, healthcare providers, dentists, eye doctors, church and community leaders, local government officials, youth mentors, and anyone else who interacts with Carter County students.

☕ Refreshments will be served.

Our schools are just one stop on our students' journey. When an entire community speaks the same language, recognizes the same skills, and encourages the same qualities, that impact can travel far beyond our school walls.

💙 Let's grow more than graduates. Let's grow young people who are equipped for wherever life takes them.

Please share and help us invite our entire Carter County community! 🌎✈️
