🏠 What is Loss of Use Coverage?

If your home becomes unlivable because of a covered loss — such as a fire, major water damage, or another covered claim — where do you live while your home is being repaired?

That’s where Loss of Use coverage comes in.

Loss of Use can help pay for additional living expenses you incur because you can’t live in your home, such as:
🏨 Hotel or temporary housing
🍽️ Increased food costs
🐶 Pet boarding in some situations
🚗 Additional transportation expenses in certain circumstances

For example: If a covered fire makes your home unlivable for several months, your policy may help cover the additional costs of living somewhere else while repairs are being completed.

👉 Important: Loss of Use generally covers the additional expenses above what you would normally spend — not your entire cost of living.
