Big shout out to Gage Word for being selected as the first Alfa Insurance-Justin Shelby POTW of the 2026 season. Lexington Golden Bears Football had a huge win over rival Lauderdale County to start the season. Gage was a force to be reckoned with. He graded out 89% at RT, had 5 tackles and a sack on defense. Wishing the Bears good luck as they take on the Clements Colts this Friday night! Go Bears and congratulations to Gage Word!

The coaching staff raves about Reece’s willingness to jump in wherever his team needs him and his constant support of his teammates! Congrats Reece! Good luck to the Pirates as they take on Geraldine in the first round of the Playoffs!

Shout out to Zane Kilburn for being named Alfa Insurance-Justin Shelby Player of The Week in Lexington Golden Bears Football Week 8 game against Brooks. Zane had a big night for the Bears offense. He finished the night completing 17 of his 30 pass attempts for 282 yards and 1 TD. Congrats Zane and Go Bears!

Shout out to Preston Littrell for being named Alfa Insurance-Justin Shelby Player of The Week in Rogers Pirates Football Week 8 game against Lauderdale County. Preston had a huge night for the Pirates all aroubd! He finished the night with 8 Tackles including 5 Tackles for a loss! On the offensive side of the ball he had 1 catch for 22 yards, graded out at 85% blocking, and 2 pancakes. Congrats Preston and Roll Blue!

Lane had a big night for the Bears defense with 5 Tackles including a Big TFL that stopped Winston County from converting a 2 point conversion late in the 4th quarter. Congrats Lane and Go Bears!
