- Ask the contractor to include their HVAC license & Certificate of Insurance with the quote.

- Request a quote that clearly outlines the scope of work, costs, and warranty information before work begins.

- Ask whether permits will be obtained if your project requires them. Kentucky requires licensed HVAC contractors for regulated HVAC work.

- Confirm the business name on the insurance certificate matches the licensed contractor's name.
