If you're on a Medicare Advantage plan in South Carolina, here's something worth knowing.
A lot of folks set up their Medicare plan years ago and haven't looked at it since. The plan worked fine the first year, the second year too, and now they just assume it still fits. That's how people end up surprised.
Medicare Advantage plans change every year. Networks shift. Drug formularies get updated. Copays go up or down. Extra benefits like dental and vision get added, dropped, or quietly capped at lower amounts. Sometimes a plan that was perfect three years ago is now costing somebody hundreds more than they realize.
Here's the thing nobody tells you: reviewing your plan doesn't mean changing it. Most years, I tell people their current plan is still the best fit and they don't need to do anything. That's the right answer most of the time. But you don't know unless you actually look.
A few questions worth asking yourself before the next open enrollment window:
β Are all my doctors still in network?
β Have any of my prescriptions moved to a higher cost tier?
β Am I actually using the dental, vision, or OTC benefits I'm paying for?
β Did my plan's star rating drop this year?
β Have my health needs changed in a way that makes a different plan structure make sense?
If you're not sure on any of those, that's a free 20-minute phone call with us. No pressure. No pitch to switch plans. Just an honest look at what you've got and whether it still fits.
