Olivia Howard is the Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy Student of the Month, sponsored by Edward Jones- Financial Advisor: Steve Jackson. Olivia was chosen for Student of the Month because of her accountability, service, professionalism, investigation, respect, and ethics. Olivia is interested in the Pharmacy Technology career path, with a Medication Dispensing Area of Study. One lesson that Olivia has learned is, "When you fail just get back up and learn from it. No one is no perfect" She said that she chose YVRCA because of the family atmosphere as well as the bigger opportunities that were available to her. Olivia said that she would like to share with her peers, "When life gets hard, don't be afraid to fail.”

Emerson Pagan is the Yadkin Valley Regional Career Academy Student of the Month, sponsored by Edward Jones- Financial Advisor: Steve Jackson. Emerson was chosen for Student of the Month because of her accountability, service, professionalism, investigation, respect, and ethics. Emerson is interested in the Health Science career path, with a general education and career management Area of Study. One lesson that Emerson has learned is, "to learn from your mistakes and improve. Sometimes things don't always go the right way, but you have to continue to work hard and not give up." She said that she chose YVRCA because she wanted to graduate high school with an associates degree, and she also loves the project based learning. Emerson said that she would like to share with her peers, "Always be there for each other. Work together and be respectful and kind to everyone.”

Sam Clark is the YVRCA Aspire - Student of the Month Student of the Month, sponsored by Edward Jones- Financial Advisor: Steve Jackson. Son of Holly Clark, Sam was chosen for Student of the Month because of his accountability, service, professionalism, investigation, respect, and ethics. Sam is interested in the Nurse Aide career path, with a Medical Area of Study. One lesson that Sam has learned is, "Find a schedule that works for you. When you have a schedule that works for you, you have less to think about." He said that he chose YVRCA because it was a project based learning school and he could also take some college classes. Sam said that he would like to share with his peers, "Finding balance between all aspects of life is the best way to prevent burnout. When we are balanced, we can get things done when we need to.”

As the school year comes to a close, we would like to congratulate all the ASPIRE students of the month, as well as all the YVRCA Aspire - Student of the Month students for the great work they did this year! One lesson that Jordan has learned is, "There are people that care, just find the courage to ask for help from them."
