Twenty-eight years ago, Tony and I started this journey together with no guarantees, no perfect roadmap, and definitely no “perfect timing.” This past weekend, we celebrated our anniversary by getting away, exploring new places, slowing down, and reflecting on how far life has taken us.
Our marriage hasn’t been perfect — because nothing meaningful ever is. But I wouldn’t want to walk through life with anyone else.
Now our kids are grown, married, and beginning families of their own. Watching those seasons unfold reminds me of something I often talk about with clients: life keeps moving whether we feel “ready” or not.
So many people wait for the perfect time to take the trip, start investing, make a plan, change careers, retire, or pursue the life they really want. But perfection is a moving target.
The people who experience the most meaningful moments usually aren’t the ones who waited until everything lined up perfectly — they’re the ones who decided to move forward anyway.
Financial planning is about more than numbers. It’s about creating the freedom and confidence to fully live the life you’re building along the way.
What are you waiting for?
