Man, I love this so much!

My head goes to so many different places but I'll leave it at this.

One drop. Repeatedly. Consistently. Over time. Everyday. Day after day. Never stopping.

Or

The same amount of drops in one big bucket. Dumped all at once.

What are you going for?

Quick drowning or lasting impact?

So, I’ve been thinking about some of the things people say when trying to decide whether to spend money on something or not.

The first thing that comes to my mind is,
ā€œWell, I deserve it.ā€

Or… we say that to somebody else.
(I know I have.)

How many times is ā€œI deserve itā€ or ā€œYou deserve itā€ the deciding factor?

I wonder how much all those ā€œdeservingā€ moments total up to.

Is it possible that it could be one of the things that keeps somebody feeling stuck?

Whyyyy do we limit ourselves to this stuff?

Do we reeeally NOT believe there are greater things out there waiting for us?

Here’s the conclusion I came to:
I think sometimes not believing that more is possible is what keeps us settling for ALL the ā€œI deserveā€ moments.

Maybe the track playing inside sounds something like this:

ā€œWell, I'll never be able to have what I REALLY want, and I’ll never be able to do what I REALLY want to do… so I'm just going to buy this right now because I deserve to have something that makes me feel good.ā€

What if we take the whole ā€œwhat I deserveā€ thought process and set it aside for a second?

What would change if we started to believe there’s more waiting for us than short-lived moments in the now?

And what would happen if we explored what it would take to move toward it?

So, holding on to all the ā€œI deserveā€ moments or….discovering and going after what’s waiting to be yours?

Have you ever felt like you had plenty of time before needing to think about retirement?

I know how you feel.

I skipped a 401(k) meeting at work when I was in my mid-20s because I didn't think it was for people my age.

And almost every adult that's my age now or older admits—with regret—that they once felt the same way.

Schedule your Q&A call with me.

I will help you create a spending plan that takes care of you now AND in the future so you never have to wonder again whether your present or your future is more important.

She tells herself she can’t budget because some expenses never stay the same — groceries, gas, utilities.

What would happen if she planned anyway...even if the amounts changed?

Is it possible for the unexpected to feel less overwhelming?

She says she can't prepare for tomorrow but right now she's reacting to yesterday.

She says its too stressful to try to think ahead but is the opposite really less stressful?

Which option feels more like freedom?

Is this you?

I help people solve this problem.

I’ve had multiple people say to me that they don’t budget because they just want to be able to buy whatever they want, whenever they want.

I always wonder what that really means.

What is it they’re buying right now that they feel like they wouldn’t be able to buy anymore?

And what positive feelings do those purchases bring — comfort, excitement, maybe a little escape?

And if that was the only thing they were able to do with their money for the rest of their life, would they be satisfied?

Or are there other things they wish they could do — travel, give, save, rest — but haven’t had the space or clarity to make possible yet?

Which option feels more like freedom to them?

Is this you?

This is the problem I help people solve.
