This weekend, our community marks three years since the tragic events of October 25, 2023.

This this may bring a wide range of emotions, memories, and challenges. There is no right or wrong way to move through this weekend, everyone’s experience is different. What remains constant is the importance of connection, compassion, and continuing to show up for one another for those who are able.

The MRC will be open from 8AM-5PM on Sunday, 10/25, for anyone seeking support - ASL interpretation will be available.

Below is an outline of events and opportunities for remembrance, reflection, connection, and community throughout the weekend. If you know of an event that is not listed here, please message us and we will update this post accordingly.

We wrapped up our week by remembering and recognizing some of the many people who came together on October 25, 2023, to help our communities navigate the tragic shooting in Lewiston. First responders, 911 operators, dispatchers, counselors, and countless others stepped up—both on the front lines and behind the scenes.

Credit unions met one another in parking lots and walked through the doors together—a simple but powerful reminder that no one had to face those difficult memories alone.

Every role mattered then, and every role continues to matter today. We are deeply grateful for the quick response, teamwork, compassion, and continued commitment shown not only in moments of crisis, but throughout the days, months, and years that follow.

To all who answered the call, offered support, and continue to care for our communities—**thank you for your service.** ❤️

In remembrance of October 25, 2023, local credit unions came together to honor the dedication, courage, and continued service of our first responders.

Here’s where we went yesterday and today to deliver our thanks and show our appreciation to those who work every day to protect and care for our communities. ❤️

In the wake of tragedy, we are reminded that it takes an entire team to protect, support, and care for a community. From the 911 operators who answer the calls and the dispatchers who coordinate the response, to the first responders who rush toward danger, the trainers who prepare others for the unexpected, the service animals and their handlers, and the counselors who help individuals and families navigate the lasting impact of trauma — every role matters, and every person makes a difference.

We would not be where we are today without the fast response, dedication, teamwork, and compassion of so many people, both in the moments of crisis and in the days, months, and years that follow. Some serve on the front lines, while others work behind the scenes, but all play an important part in helping our communities heal, grow stronger, and move forward.

Today, and every day, we are grateful for each and every one of you. Thank you for showing up when it matters most, for supporting one another, and for continuing to serve our communities with courage and heart. ❤️
