When a fire starts, every second counts. That’s why having a home escape plan and practicing it before an emergency happens is so important.

Start by identifying two ways out of each room whenever possible. Choose a safe, familiar meeting place outside where everyone knows to go, keep pathways to exits clear and practice the plan together so it becomes familiar.

And remember: once you’re safely outside, stay outside.
