The dependent care FSA limit moved from $5,000 to $7,500. Your open enrollment window is open now or very soon.

Most H1B parents will type $5,000 out of habit and pay tax on $2,500 they did not have to.

One catch: this only works if both of you earn. If your spouse is on H4 and cannot work, the saving disappears at tax time.

$70,000 for OPT. The number is real — most of what you've heard about it is not.

DHS published a proposal on Oct 8. $70,000 for a student's first OPT, $30,000 for each one after, including STEM OPT.

Your university pays it, not you. It's a proposal, not law — nothing is being charged today. And if you're already on OPT or already recommended, you're not affected.
