TDI Warning of Phone Scam

The Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) has issued a warning regarding a current phone scam involving a group claiming to be the Consumer Insurance Association. This group is not a licensed insurance company or agency in Texas.

The caller offers to lower the consumer's auto insurance costs and asks about the individual's current coverage in an attempt to reveal personal information.

If such a call is received, please advise customers not to provide any personal information. Verification of licensed agents is available on the TDI website or by calling the TDI Help Line at 1-800-252-3439 to check the status of a company.

Just a helpful suggestion before these hot months get here. You want to make sure your air conditioner is working at peak capacity. And maybe catch a problem before it turns into a bigger one.

Air conditioner breakdowns are not covered by your dwelling insurance unless it is damaged by a covered peril.
