One of my favorite memories from when my daughter was younger was taking walks in the rain together.
We'd grab our umbrellas, head outside, and splash through puddles while most people were trying to stay dry. What others saw as a gloomy day, we saw as an adventure. Some of our biggest laughs and best conversations happened during those rainy walks.
As I've gotten older, I've realized life works a lot the same way.
None of us enjoy the storms. Whether they're personal struggles, health challenges, family issues, career setbacks, or unexpected changes, we all go through difficult seasons.
But just like the rain helps everything grow, those difficult seasons often help us grow too.
Looking back on some of the hardest times in my life, I can see that each one taught me something valuable. They made me stronger, more resilient, and more appreciative of the good days. They gave me skills, perspective, and confidence I wouldn't have gained any other way.
The goal isn't to avoid every storm. Sometimes it's learning to walk through it, trusting that growth is happening even when we can't see it.
And who knows? Some of life's best memories might just be found in the rain.
What's a challenge you've faced that ended up teaching you an important life lesson?
