When I talk with clients about retirement, the conversation goes beyond numbers pretty quickly. Yes, we plan for income, savings and longevity — but we also talk about what your days will look like, who you’ll spend time with and what will give you a sense of purpose.

If you’re thinking about retirement, let’s make sure you’re prepared for both sides of the equation.

Retirement is more than a financial milestone. It is a psychological transition. Learn how to design the next phase of your life with purpose.www.edwardjones.com/us-en

Higher Treasury yields weighed on equities last week, renewing concerns about whether the economy and markets can withstand elevated rates. Despite the potential for seasonal volatility, resilient economic activity and strong corporate earnings support a constructive backdrop for equities.

Investment Strategist Brock Weimer explains what’s behind the move higher in long-term yields in the latest Weekly Market Wrap.

I got to be part of something transformative this weekend.

Myself and 299 others signed up to climb a mountain in Steamboat, Colorado. The top goal for most was to climb 14 times - 29029 feet, equivalent to Mt. Everest - in under 36 hours.

Beforehand, some of us connected on Strava during training. At the event, when a lot of participants had finished and were resting or eating... a few of us waited with hope to see Gregory Buteyn. When we saw him pop out of the woods into the final homestretch, we knew he only had a few minutes to climb another 100 feet of elevation in about 1/3 of a mile. Angelo Grippando and I lost our minds running to him. Screaming at him.

Unlike other events, I didn't scream to finish strong. I screamed at him -

"Your team is here for you. Your wife is waiting at the top for you. Fill your heart with love and let's go"

Because that is what 29029 Official events make you feel. Legs and lungs tired. Hearts full.

Community of the highest order.

Thank you to all the staff, volunteers, participants who made this experience all I hoped it would be and more.

Inflation has trended lower, supporting the case for the Federal Reserve to keep policy rates steady. While the path back to the Fed's inflation target may not be perfectly smooth, strong earnings, healthy economic growth and resilient consumer spending continue to help support market strength.

Portfolio Strategist Tom Larm shares his perspective on the forces influencing markets and what it could mean for investors in the latest Weekly Market Wrap.
