Ag Commissioner Jonathan Shell signed a proclamation designating the month of July Cut Flowers month respecting the growing commercial cut flower farms. So I started looking for one in Marion County and walked right into this one at the Farmers Market.

A blast from the past

It was a busy week and weekend. Besides being sponsors for the beef, dairy and sheep shows, we celebrated Marion County Farm Bureau Day with a booth set up on Friday night. Besides information and giveaway items at the table, members could get a ticket for a free Cattlemen's hamburger. We also gave away a 2 gallon Stanley Cooler. The winner of this prize was Nathan Jones.
Farm Bureau directors and members signed up to work the gates. Setting up and working this booth were Brittany Jones, Dave Kessler, Timmy Jones, Steve Downs and Ruby Downs

Our young farmers had a great time this weekend in Hopkinsville at the Young Farmer's Summer Outing!
Congratulations to Cody and Angela Rakes for placing in the top 3 for the Excellence in Agriculture Contest! They will find out final results this fall.
