Hey all,
The weather forecast doesn't look so great for Thursday and Friday. They are talking about Freezing rain starting on Thursday afternoon (ish) through Friday Night. Friday is supposed to be freezing rain all day.
I live in Albany and work in Lebanon. I have already talked to Mr. G and will be working from home on Friday. This is to avoid what could be hazardous driving conditions. If you can, I would advise staying home and starting the holiday weekend early.
As I think about freezing rain and wind, I can't help but wonder about the trees around my friends' and customers' homes. Do you have some older trees with problem limbs? Does your property have power lines that could be affected?
If you loose power, how will you get heat? How will you cook? My goal is not to alarm you but to get you thinking. I have two camp stoves for cooking food. I have canned provisions and frozen meals that can be heated pretty easily in them. I even have a few MRE's set aside.
Do you have candles that can be used for light in a safe manner? Are your flashlights charged? If they take batteries, do you have any spare ones?
My goal is to help you think of these things. I hope it doesn't come to fruition and this will be just a "drill".
Have a great week, be safe, and have an amazing weekend!
