Hey everyone! I’m gonna be at Tractor Supply in Lansing, KS (not on the clock) setting up for a Pet Event Saturday 9/11 from 9 until 1. LAWS, Leavenworth Animal Welfare Society, is a group under Wreaths Across America at Fort Leavenworth. While there we will also have a drop box set up for remembrance of military service notes/cards, in memory of Ronald Hemingway who gave his life at the Pentagon on Sept. 11, 2001. Ronalds family is in the greater KC area and will be presented these letters. Come out and show his family how our community will always remember!!!

Today the VFW Riders Post #56 Riders hosted a remembrance ceremony for the 13 service members killed in action in Afghanistan recently.

Hi everyone!

We noticed some damage at the memorial recently.

We wanted to let everyone know this is due to weather, temperatures and the adhesive.

We have contacted the memorial company, sent them pictures and they will soon be to fixing this.

We wanted to reassure everyone it is NOT vandalism.

We are setting up a "Honor" challenge. This Memorial Day, regardless of where you are in America we should honor our fallen military. The challenge is to you as an individual, family, group, organization to search out a Memorial Day service, War/Veterans Memorial, plaques, anything that is placed to "Remember" our military on Memorial Day. Send me the pictures of what/where you are/doing. We will repost on our Wreaths Across America and Military Families United of KS/MO page. Leavenworth is covered for this, if you would like to join in the Leavenworth effort let me know. We will be going to 6 different locations, having TAPS played and a poem read for their service. DEEDS speak louder than WORDS!!! Remember.Honor.Teach!!!
