Don't get caught in the percentage deductible game many companies are doing now. We have been hearing many people want to go to another carrier due to the price which has changed this past year. Well know what you deductible at the present time is, and keep that in mind. Deductibles have changed now with all of the losses lately as most new polices are higher. Some companies are stating a percentage deductible and they range from 1 to 3%. Well if you home is valued at $300,000 and the agent states it is only a 2% deductible that alone is $6,000. Make sure you do not get caught in that perdentage trick they are doing now. Many of the companies we have at present WERE at $1,000 deductible but in most cases that is not available anymore. Just ask what the figure is prior to signing a contract with the new company as you might want to consider staying with the present carrier if your deductible is lower.
