Maybe you needed to hear this today:
**You are allowed to begin again.**
Maybe the week has not gone the way you planned.
Maybe you lost your patience.
Missed the goal.
Made the wrong decision.
Put something off for too long.
Or simply woke up and realized you have been carrying the same struggle longer than you wanted to admit.
Maya Angelou wrote:
**“You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated.”**
There is a difference.
A defeat is something that happened.
Being defeated is a decision about what that moment gets to mean about you.
You made a mistake.
That does not make you a mistake.
You had a difficult season.
That does not mean your story is finished.
You fell behind.
That does not mean you cannot move forward.
Sometimes courage is not charging ahead with confidence.
Sometimes courage is quietly saying:
**“I am going to try again.”**
So take the next step.
Make the call.
Apologize.
Start the habit.
Open the notebook.
Try the conversation again.
Begin where you are.
You do not need to erase yesterday.
**You simply need to refuse to let yesterday write tomorrow.**
