Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Derek Osborn

Edward Jones - Financial Advisor: Derek Osborn Helping individuals and small business owners achieve and protect what's most important Being a financial advisor can mean a lot of things.

My parents raised my brother and me to do the right thing, to help others, to work hard, to value relationships and to expect the best but to prepare for the worst. From an early age we learned the value of a dollar and the importance of planning, saving and investing. When I was 15, I found myself walking into our local Edward Jones office to inquire about opening an account to invest the $92 che

ck I earned each month for doing maintenance on a rental property our family owned. Over the next few hours, I was introduced to and learned a little about stocks, bonds, mutual funds, the importance of diversification, risk management, the significance of investing early and systematically along with the power of compounding interest. I was shown charts about how the market moves up and down but on an upward slope over the long term. That day, the framework was laid upon the financial foundation my parents had built; I became an investor! For me, it means engaging with serious, long-term investors in an established process. First, I gain a clear understanding of where you are today and what financial goals are most important to your family or small business. Next, I work to define personalized strategies to achieve those goals, on time and within your comfort with risk. Finally, I want to partner together over time to keep you on track. My senior branch office administrator, Emily Lilienkamp, has 19 years of experience with our firm and is dedicated to providing the highest level of service possible. If you value personal interaction and choice, want a tailored strategy, and embrace an investment philosophy of buying quality investments, diversifying them and holding them for the long term while helping to reduce risk, we would be honored to have the opportunity to work with you. Edward Jones is a financial- services firm dedicated to serving the needs of individual investors. Member SIPC.

Senior Economist James McCann explains what this could mean for investors in our Weekly Market Wrap.
