Congress is now debating the “One Big Beautiful Bill” (also called the “budget reconciliation” bill), a sweeping bill that could make it much harder for your clients to access affordable care through the ACA Marketplaces. Unless Congress removes harmful provisions, the bill could impact your clients in several ways:

Ends passive re-enrollment for your clients receiving premium tax credits and increases burdens to verify eligibility – adding red tape that will make it harder for individuals to get health coverage.

Changes the way cost-sharing reductions are funded – increasing out-of-pocket premiums for nearly half of the market.
These changes, combined with the slated expiration of enhanced premium tax credits, could cause healthcare premiums to double or even triple at the end of the year for tens of millions of Americans. Eight million people would lose their insurance altogether.
