The Dark Horse Difference is all about giving back to the communities we’re proud to be a part of. 🧡

For our final Dark Horse Difference donation, we were honored to present a check to the Schenectady Firefighters Cancer Foundation, supporting the important work they do for individuals and families in our local community.

A special thank you to DiSanto’s Contracting for contributing to this donation and helping us make an even greater impact. We’re incredibly grateful to have local businesses and community partners who share our commitment to giving back.

Before Dark Horse was what it is today, there was a first office, a first vision, and a whole lot of hard work behind the scenes.

This photo is a reminder that Dark Horse has always been family-run in every sense of the word.

Every partner here has a family of their own. They understand the sacrifices that come with building something meaningful—the long days, the missed moments, and the commitment it takes to create something that lasts.

That perspective is exactly why they care so deeply about the agencies they partner with.

The local insurance agents who built their businesses spent decades serving their communities, building relationships, and creating a legacy worth honoring. Dark Horse doesn’t take that lightly.

What started as a simple idea — a way to give back, do some good, and make a difference in the community we call home — became something so much bigger than we ever imagined.

And that’s because of YOU.

Thank you to the incredible nonprofits in our community who give us so many meaningful opportunities to give back. We are fortunate to have personal connections to several organizations we routinely support, but we’re constantly reminded just how many incredible people and organizations are doing amazing work right here in our community.

And a HUGE thank you to for seeing the vision, jumping on board, and offering to match our donation to the — turning our first-ever donation into $1,000. That support means more than we can put into words.

The first Dark Horse Difference was more than we could have imagined. 🖤

What started as a fun night at Vice & Virtue turned into something so much bigger — an opportunity to give back to the community we’re proud to be part of.

After the token was found, the winner had four organizations to choose from for our donation, and they chose the Schenectady Fire Fighter Cancer Foundation. ❤️

Then came the part that made this even more special.

DiSantos Contracting saw what we were doing and decided to MATCH our donation — turning $500 into a $1,000 donation and doubling the impact we could make together.

That’s the Dark Horse Difference.

It’s about more than insurance. It’s about showing up, supporting local organizations, and inspiring others to join us in making a difference.

We are so grateful to everyone who helped make our first Dark Horse Difference such a huge success — and especially to for believing in the mission and helping us make the impact even greater.

This was just the beginning.

We’re excited to keep giving back, keep supporting our community, and keep finding new ways to make a difference.

This giant check isn’t for us… it’s for our community. ❤️

One of the things we’re most excited about for our first New York Insurance Hub Meet & Greet is introducing The Dark Horse Difference.

At the event, one lucky guest will find the hidden Dark Horse logo. When they do, they’ll get to choose which of our four nonprofit partners receives a $500 donation from Dark Horse.

Giving back isn’t something we do because it’s good marketing.

It’s something we do because this is the community where we’ve built our business, raised our families, and made lifelong relationships.

Supporting the people and organizations that make our community stronger is part of who we are.

We can’t wait to see everyone on August 7 and kick off the very first Dark Horse Difference giveaway.
