NY Insurance Hub in the Wild — Episode 3 📍 Niagara Falls State Park 💦

We don’t just work in New York. We live here, raise our families here, support businesses here — and we vacation here, too.

This time, Tony and the family headed to Niagara Falls State Park and took on Cave of the Winds… and this one gets an easy recommendation from us.

Cave of the Winds takes you down into the Niagara Gorge and onto the wooden walkways at the base of Bridal Veil Falls. And when they tell you that you’re going to get wet… believe them. 😂 The ponchos help, but there’s really no staying dry once you get close to the falls.

The experience itself was incredible. You’re close enough to actually feel the power of Niagara Falls, and it’s one of those things that pictures just don’t fully capture. Between the views throughout Niagara Falls State Park, walking around the falls, and getting absolutely drenched at Cave of the Winds, there’s easily enough here to make a full day out of it.

And this is exactly why we love calling New York home. ❤️

We have world-famous destinations like Niagara Falls, incredible state parks, small towns, local restaurants and businesses, lakes, mountains and some pretty amazing places to explore — sometimes without ever leaving our own backyard.

Our NYIH verdict on Cave of the Winds?
⭐ Absolutely worth doing.
💦 Plan on getting soaked.
😂 And don’t trust the poncho.

Meet Markus — officially a licensed Insurance Agent! 💙

Markus originally joined NY Insurance Hub as an Insurance Associate, ready to learn the industry from the ground up. Since then, he’s put in the work, learned alongside our experienced team, and recently reached a pretty big milestone: earning his insurance license.

And did we mention he’s doing all of this while attending college full-time?

Markus has a genuine interest in business and leadership and is continuing to develop those skills while beginning his career in insurance.

There’s something we really value about that.

Our industry needs experience. It needs people who have spent years building relationships, solving problems and learning lessons that simply take time.

But it needs the next generation, too.

Young professionals bring curiosity, energy, new ideas and an entirely different perspective on how their generation communicates and makes decisions.

Put those generations together, and something pretty cool happens: we learn from each other.

The wisdom stays. The industry evolves. And hopefully, Markus keeps the rest of us a little more hip along the way. 😉

We had a great time at the Maple Fall Festival Car Show at Maple Ski Ridge!

While this was NY Insurance Hub’s first year participating, it was far from Regional Director Tony Catalfamo’s first time at the show. Over the years, Tony has been part of this event both as an insurance professional and as a classic car enthusiast, showing his own car in the lineup.

This year, NY Insurance Hub was proud to sponsor and present the car show awards, celebrate some incredible vehicles, and do what we do best: build connections and relationships with real people, right here in New York.

Because being a local insurance agency means more than doing business in a community. It means being part of it.

Two policies can cover the same property — but how that property is valued after a covered loss can make a big difference.

With replacement cost coverage, a covered item is generally valued based on what it would cost to replace it today with something of similar kind and quality.

With actual cash value, depreciation is generally taken into account. That means the age, condition and expected useful life of an item can affect its value at the time of a covered loss.

It’s one of those details that can be easy to overlook when comparing policies based on price alone.

Joe is a licensed insurance agent at New York Insurance Hub — but his career didn’t start in insurance.

Before joining the industry, Joe worked in the casino world, where working with people, communicating clearly, and thinking on your feet were all part of the job.
