Create Credit Union was honored to participate in a Senior Scam Prevention event alongside Congresswoman Susie Lee. Our Fraud Investigator, Jordan shared insights on the growing threat of AI voice cloning scams, while Creson, Director of Financial Education, provided fraud prevention resources and education at our booth.

The statistics are sobering: Seniors lost nearly $7.7 billion to scams last year, AI voice cloning scams have tripled in early 2026, and grandparent scam victims lose an average of $9,000.

Remember these red flags:
🚩 Extreme urgency
🚩 Demands for secrecy
🚩 Requests for gift cards, wire transfers or cash
🚩 Pressure to stay on the call
🚩 Emotional manipulation designed to create fear or panic

When in doubt, stop, verify, and contact your loved one directly through a trusted phone number.
