As we prepare for this holiday weekend, we want to be reminded as to what had happened in the past in order for us to have this celebration.
Back in the late 1800s, during the Industrial Revolution, the general population in America were succumbed to working 12-hour shifts, every single day, in order to receive a basic living. Because of these working conditions, and the increased demand for the products they were producing, labor unions grew and became more vocal and public. They organized multiple rallies and protests in order to get the employers to recognize just how their employees were living, and to hopefully get the employer to rethink their policies on hours worked and pay received.
It would take over twelve years until Congress gives this problem its’ recognition and legalize the holiday. President Grover Cleveland officially signed Labor Day into law on June 28, 1894.

Today, we celebrate it by hosting parades, picnics, and public gatherings. It represents the beginning of a new school season, as well as the last summer weekend for families to getaway. It is a day of rest; honoring the labor that is put in throughout the rest of the year.

From all of us here at Employers Benefits Design, Inc. We would just like to extend our appreciation for all of those who are in the labor industry, and everyone else out there who sacrifices their time out of the day in order to perform services to others. Happy Labor Day!

MASKS ARE BACK....
Effective TODAY did you know Masks will be required to be worn by all employees who work within indoor public spaces for any business operating within Clark County effective midnight July 21 until August 17, at which point the measure will be reevaluated by the County.

Did you know- that during the time period of 600-900 AD, the first fireworks were created by an Chinese alchemist when he mixed together potassium nitrate, sulfur and charcoal. This resulted in the first form of gunpowder! They then poured this powder into bamboo sticks, creating the first version of our favorite 4th of July tradition!

Later, the U.S. settlers would bring their love for fireworks along with them- they even used them in their very first Independence Day celebration! Today, we still continue this tradition every year when celebrating our freedoms and independence.

Here at Employers Benefits Design, we also strive to create a more “free” feeling for your business by helping you make independent benefit choices for both you, and your employees. FREE COVID 19 VACCINE CLINIC ALERT!!!
Hi, this is Jill Pepper from EBD and the company my husband works for is offering a Vaccine Clinic Tomorrow. They have so graciously asked us to share this information with our clients and friends.

WHEN: Tomorrow June 11, 2021
TIME: 10:00 AM - 4:00 PM
WHERE: CDW Parking Lot (Look for the tents) - 3201 E Alexander Rd. North Las Vegas, NV 89030
WHO: This Walk-up Clinic is for anyone age 12 and older who is still in need or wants to get the COVID 19 vaccine. CDW will have their medical partner CVS Health onsite administering the Pfizer COVID 19 vaccine.
SPECIAL BENEFITS: Ice Cream will be available after vaccinations.
NOTE: Everyone will need to wear a mask and use proper social distancing during this event.
