For anyone who knows our friend and colleague John Gage, I have something to share with you that is a challenge that we need to come together to overcome as a family. Many of you may know one of our most caring, compassionate and driven family members, John Gage. Anyone that has ever met John will know that he is a selfless man who cares deeply, not only for his family of 9, but for anyone that he can help and gives selflessly of himself each and every day. John recently lost nearly 100 lbs and was on the road to knocking it out of the park in his new Aflac career! Unfortunately, sometimes life has other plans for us. On February 13th John was hospitalized for internal bleeding and was nearly lost to us forever. The good news is that John is on his way to making a full recovery from the initial event however he is still not out of the woods yet with another surgery scheduled for March 16th (Friday). Now for the challenge.....even though John has Major Medical Insurance, his bills are stacking up quickly even with his 80/20 plan that he receives through his wife's employer. As you will see on his page, each Unit of blood that he received costs between $12,000 - $16,000 per unit and has all of his co-pays and deductibles that he is required to pay on top of his 80/20 split. In order to help raise money for these expenses, John has set up a GoFundMe page to try and combat this unexpected tragedy and not only fund the rising medical bills (John will need roughly $30,000) but to also provide for his family during his battle with his unexpected illness.
With that, below is the link to the GoFundMe for John should you be in a position to help but even if you're not, please share with everyone you know and let's all band together for one of our family members and let John know that he is never alone is will always have us fighting along side with him!
Thank you so much for all that you do and let's never forget why we do what we do and what is most important in life - health, family and friends!!
