UPDATE CAPTURED: A convicted sexual predator that has ties to Alton has been taken back into custody. 40-year-old Frederick L. Buettner - who sometimes goes by Eric - pled guilty to charges in 2004 to ra**ng his young daughter, and was sentenced to ten years in prison. He was released to a halfway house in East St. Louis in May of 2013, but walked away last July.

Buettner’s mugshot depicts a man with long hair and a full beard, but he had apparently cut and dyed his hair. Buettner was found working behind the counter of a South St. Louis gas station. An alert customer apparently recognized him after seeing pictures on a social media site, and alerted a nearby officer. His former wife, Heather Claxton, who is also mother of his daughter, says it feels like a weight has been lifted.

Vancouver Police need your help finding this armed and dangerous man. Share on your page and help bring him in.

On October 15, 2013 at approximately 7:00 a.m. Vancouver Police responded to the 1200 block of V Street for the report of a robbery, kidnapping and assault. Based on information gathered throughout the day by detectives from the Vancouver Police Major Crimes Unit, Nicholas M. Loredo assaulted, robbed and kidnapped two adults and one 17 year old in the early morning hours this morning. The suspect and the victims are all known to one another. The names of the victims are not being released. All the victims are currently safe and sustained only minor injuries as a result of today's incident.

The suspect, Nicholas Loredo, is still outstanding. Loredo is a white male, 5'11, 178 lbs., with a red Mohawk hairstyle, brown eyes, and a goatee. He has numerous visible tattoos on his neck. He was last seen driving a green 2003 Ford Ranger pickup truck, Oregon plate ZKR 453 (missing front plate; has rear license plate only).

Vancouver Police are seeking assistance from the public regarding the whereabouts of Nicholas Loredo. He is considered armed and dangerous and should not be approached. Anyone with information on his whereabouts should call 911.
