📌 IMPORTANT TAX SEASON REMINDER 📌

January 2nd is for SELF-EMPLOYED clients or those who have received W2’s Already.

BUT understand this clearly ⬇️
If you also worked a job or you’re waiting on a W-2 or 1099,
🚫 you CANNOT file on January 2nd.

Do not rush to be first or try to be “ahead” when you still have income that must be reported.
All income must be included — no skipping, no guessing.

📌 W-2 income
📌 1099 income
📌 App income
📌 Cash income

If income was earned, it MUST be reported.
Remember the areas I raised about income — the IRS already has the proof.

We file RIGHT, not rushed 💼💯

Tax Tip Tuesday

Since y’all love checking IRS transcripts but don’t have a clue of WHAT you’re looking at🙄 Come here let me break down the REAL TAX GAME CODES the way your tax pro SHOULD be explaining them to you 🗣️

💸 826 — THEY SNATCHED YOUR REFUND
The IRS used your refund to pay a debt. Child support, student loans, state taxes… yep, that’s where your money went.

💰 846 — THE MONEY CODE
Refund issued. Green light. Bag released. The date next to it is when your money LEFT the IRS.

⏸️ 570 — THEY PUT A HOLD ON YOUR MONEY
Something triggered a review. No release. No movement. It’s sitting until they finish checking whatever flagged.

🧊 810 — FREEZE ALERT
Identity, exam, or security issues. Your refund is BLOCKED until you clear it. Nothing moves.

🔥 811 — FREEZE LIFTED
They unfroze your refund. Now we wait for that lovely 846 to pop up.

📝 971 — THEY SENT YOU A LETTER
Account activity logged. Could be ID verify, missing info, corrections… watch your mailbox.

📬 977 — AMENDED RETURN POSTED
Your 1040X is officially in the system. Amended return accepted and processing.

😰 424 — EXAM/AUDIT REVIEW
Your return got pulled for extra eyes. Doesn’t always mean full audit, but something needed a closer look.

😮‍💨 425 — EXAM REVIEW MOVED
Activity or movement in the exam process. Depends what happened before this code context matters.

📚 768 — EARNED INCOME CREDIT
This is where your EIC lives. Parents, y’all look for THIS when checking how much credit posted.

🏆 177 — PENALTY REDUCTION
The IRS cut down your estimated tax penalty. Any time they remove a penalty… that’s a WIN.

⚠️ 091 — BUSINESS CLASSIFICATION CHANGE
They switched how your account or business is categorized. If you see this and you run a hustle? Yup… get a tax pro EXPEDITIOUSLY !

🚨 IRS WATCH ALERT FOR 2025 TAX SEASON 🚨

——the IRS is watching for 3 BIG things this year 👀

1️⃣ Self-Employment Income With No Proof
If you’re claiming business income (or losses) but can’t back it up with bank statements, invoices, or a real profit & loss, that’s a red flag 🚫

2️⃣ Dependents That Flip Every Year
The IRS tracks dependents by Social Security numbers. When a child bounces between taxpayers each year, it triggers a review 🔍
👉 Make sure you have custody papers, school or medical records, Social Security cards, and proof of residence!

3️⃣ Big Write-Offs With No Mileage Logs or Receipts
That car you “use for business”? They’ll want to see a mileage log.
Those big deductions for “marketing” or “supplies”? They need receipts.

💡 You can write off a lot as a business owner — but you can’t make it up.
No logs, no proof = no deduction!

⸻ Let’s Make sure Everything is in Order NOW

2025 Tax Season Updates (What’s New & What to Expect!)

🎄Child Tax Credit is higher this year — now up to $2,200 per qualifying child under age 17.

🎄 Refundable portion also increased — families may receive up to $1,700 per child back even if they don’t owe taxes.

🎄 More families will see bigger refunds — especially single parents and households with children.

🎄 Both the parent AND the child must have valid SSNs to qualify for the Child Tax Credit this year.

🎄Standard deduction is increasing, which could lower your taxable income and help boost your refund.

🎄 Some deductions and credits were adjusted for inflation, helping reduce your tax bill.

🎄 Overall refunds are expected to be larger for many families due to credit increases and updated tax brackets.

🎄 Filing season officially opens late January, but early-season tax advances start January 2nd through participating tax offices like mine.

🗣️ GOOD NEWS FOR TAX SEASON, Y’ALL!

Let me put y’all on real quick because this year actually came with some wins for parents and families. 😊

📍1. The Child Tax Credit went UP

Yep, they raised it.
So if you’ve got kids that qualify, you could see more money on your return this year.
Nothing crazy you gotta do just make sure everything matches your paperwork.

📍2. They changed the income limits

This part is GOOD.
More families can qualify now, and you don’t get “phased out” as fast.
Some of y’all who didn’t qualify last year?
You might qualify this year because the limits went up.

📍3. They made it easier to actually GET the money

Even if your tax liability is low, you still may get part of the credit refunded back to you.
That’s more help for working parents, single parents, everybody just trying to keep up.

📍4. Filing early helps you get it quicker

With these updates already in place, filing early just makes the whole process faster and smoother.
No stress.. l’ll walk you through everything.

📍BOTTOM LINE:

This year is looking better for a lot of families.
Higher credits, updated income rules, more chances to qualify…
Just make sure you file right so you get every dollar you deserve. 🤑
