Even with the new Fed Chair who will most likely lower short-term rates- because he was handpicked to do so- mortgage rates may very well stay where they are or even move upward!

Fed holds steady… but not everyone agrees 📊

The Jerome Powell-led Fed kept rates at 3.5%–3.75%, but an 8–4 vote revealed rare internal division. Policymakers are split on future rate cuts as inflation and rising energy costs continue to cloud the outlook.

Translation: uncertainty isn’t going anywhere just yet.
