6 things to do before December 31st. Screenshot this.
1. Reconcile every account, every month through December, so year-end doesn't turn into a scavenger hunt.
2. Separate your personal and business accounts. Use a separate business account and a separate business card.
3. Make equipment decisions now. It has to be in service by December 31st to count this year.
4. Max out retirement contributions. Some plans have to be set up before year-end, so plan the cash.
5. Adjust your estimated taxes if you had a big year, so April doesn't surprise you.
6. Get your financials ready for your bank. Clean financials in January may help streamline future financing.
