ARE YOU A CLOCK-PUNCHER?
I was talking with a fellow agent yesterday. He was upset because he was training a new agent and they were door knocking. He didn't like using his car and gas and then having to split the sale.
I told him that when I used to do that, I gave the appointment or most of the commission to the agent I was training. The condition was the trainee had to knock on the door and book the appointment while I waited in the car. I told him if I went to the door, I got 50%; if the "rookie" got the appointment and sale, it was all theirs.
He then asked me, "How did you make money?" and I told him that when I dropped the trainee off, I went and ran my own door knocks. I told him, "I'm a 1099. I set my own hours. If I want more, I need to do more. But I also need to motivate the trainee, make them money, and give them confidence."
Are you still punching clocks or are you hungry enough to push yourself to do more, to make more? You determine your own success if you are a 1099. You contribute to your boss's success as a W-2.
Who do you want to make successful? Want to boost your income? Then let's talk!
