University Financial Aid and Scholarship Service’s goal is to provide understandable information, timely service and monetary assistance while maintaining stewardship of public funds by providing access and equal opportunity for financial assistance to eligible students through federal, state, institutional, and private sources regardless of s*x, color, age, or other circumstance. OFFICE CLOSURE NOTICE

Financial Aid & Scholarship Services will be closed on Wednesday, October 21, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. for internal staff training.

During this time, our team will be unavailable to respond to emails, inquiries, or service requests. We will resume regular office hours on Thursday, October 22, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and will respond to messages as soon as possible upon our return.

Submitted your FAFSA? Here's what to expect next!

Once the U.S. Department of Education (ED) processes your FAFSA, you'll get an email from ED letting you know.

That email is a good sign, but it doesn't always mean NMSU has your information yet. ED and NMSU don't always get updates at the same time, so if you haven't heard from us right away, there's no need to worry.

Students and parents, here's how to make sure you're on track:

Complete your FAFSA
Watch for the confirmation email from ED
Check your FAFSA Submission Summary and make sure New Mexico State University is listed as a school receiving your information
Give it a little time for your FAFSA to reach NMSU

Dear Aggies, we hear you. We know this semester hasn’t gone as smoothly as it should have.

We recognize that delays with financial aid, loan payments, tuition discounts, and refunds have created frustration and uncertainty for many of our students. We own that.

Our Financial Aid & Scholarship Services team is working hard to get things back on track and process student accounts as quickly as possible. We know that behind every account is a student who is trying to pay tuition, cover expenses, and simply get through the start of the semester and we don’t take that lightly.

While we work through these issues, we’ll continue communicating with you, answering your questions, and providing updates when we have them.
