I recently had the opportunity to provide Sheridan Road School with a $1,500 food grant through the Farm Bureau Agent Charitable Fund. The grant helped make sure students attending summer school still had something to eat each day.

I chose Sheridan because it holds a special place in my heart and, as Lansing’s northernmost school, it is often at the end of the line for funding.

“Michigan is a no-fault state, so it doesn’t matter who caused the accident.”

❌ Not true.

No-fault doesn’t mean nobody is at fault. Who caused the accident can still matter when it comes to your collision coverage, deductible, liability, and what you could owe after an accident.

So yes — fault absolutely still matters in Michigan.

The question isn’t just, “Do I have full coverage?”

It’s “What happens to me if I’m the one who causes the accident?”
