Cinnaire was proud to celebrate the opening of Minock Park Place, supporting the development as both a financing partner, and through Cinnaire Solutions, a co-developer alongside Grandmont Rosedale Development Corporation. Together, we helped transform a long-vacant site on Grand River Avenue into 42 affordable homes for seniors and new neighborhood-serving retail space, advancing opportunity, stability, and growth in Grandmont Rosedale.

This project reflects what's possible when mission-driven capital and community-rooted development come together. Supported by the Strategic Neighborhood Fund, Minock Park Place is part of a broader, resident-centered effort to strengthen neighborhoods through housing, small business investment and corridor revitalization.

We're honored to stand alongside our partners and the community who made this vision a reality! ๐Ÿก๐ŸŽ‰

Chris Neary attended the Bipartisan Policy Center Summit on Housing Supply in Washington, DC. On the day that Congress is poised to pass the bipartisan 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, U.S. Senator Lisa Blunt Rochester (D-DE) spoke about the major progress this bill will make, including elements of her New Way Home agenda that she announced last year at Imani Village in Wilmington. We are grateful to Senator Blunt Rochester for her laser focus on housing and elevating the needs of the communities we serve.

Serving up ice cream and celebrating a partnership that continues to make an impact across Michigan! ๐Ÿจ

Mark McDaniel, Claire Borsheim, and Brent Kuennen were on scoop duty as Cinnaire continued its tradition of sponsoring the Ice Cream Social to kick off the 140th Annual Michigan Bankers Association (MBA) Annual Convention last week. Beyond the sweet treats, it's an opportunity to connect with our bank partners from across Michigan.

Our longstanding partnership with the MBA is rooted in our shared commitment to building strong, healthy communities across the state. Together, we help create the financing, partnerships, and opportunities that support thriving neighborhoods and lasting economic vitality. Weโ€™re grateful for the many banks from across Michigan who join us in this work.

June 19 marks Juneteenth, the oldest nationally celebrated commemoration of the end of slavery in the United States. It honors the day in 1865 when Union Major General Gordon Granger arrived in Galveston, Texas, and announced that the last enslaved people were finally free โ€” more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation.

As we work to build stronger, more inclusive communities, we reflect on the significance of this day and the ongoing pursuit of justice and opportunity for all. Our offices will be closed Friday in recognition of Juneteenth.

Congratulations to Edison Community Partners, Southern Michigan Bank & Trust, and Sturgis Bank on the groundbreaking of Riverbend at Capital. Weโ€™re proud to support this transformative project, bringing new life to a vacant former Kmart site with 80 units of affordable and workforce housing and a multipurpose community center that will expand access to early childhood learning and vital community services.

Weโ€™re grateful for our longstanding partnership with the Michigan Bankers Association and for the impactful role these banks play through their LIHTC equity investmentsโ€”helping make developments like Riverbend at Capital possible.

We look forward to seeing this vibrant, mixed-use community come to life in Battle Creek!

Cinnaire's Donsia Strong Hill and Chris Neary were in Washington, D.C. this week for the Affordable Housing Tax Credit Coalition (AHTCC) Affordable Housing Symposium, joining housing leaders from across the country to hear from members of Congress and key congressional staff on the future of affordable housing policy.

Chris, who serves on the AHTCC Board of Directors, joined Emily Levine of 2Life Communities, Jacob Fisher of Ulysses Development, and Selia Koss of AHTCC on Capitol Hill to advocate for the Housing Credit and bipartisan policies that will help maximize the impact of the program's recent historic expansion. Along the way, they connected with industry leaders and partners, including Celia Smoot of KeyBank, to discuss the critical role the Hosing Credit continues to play in addressing the nation's housing needs.

The symposium provides an important opportunity to bring the perspective of housing practitioners directly to federal policymakers and advance solutions that expand housing opportunities nationwide.

Shoutout to Beth Baar and Miranda Bialk, who helped bring this year's conference to life as members of the planning committee. ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿพ

More than 100 new affordable homes are now open in Michigan's capital city! ๐Ÿ

Cinnaire joined the Lansing Housing Commission, State Senator Sarah Anthony, Mayor Andy Schor, and community partners to celebrate the grand opening of Grand Vista Place and Riverview 220. Together, these developments bring 118 affordable homes to downtown Lansing through a $42 million investment in housing that strengthens the neighborhood and expands opportunity for residents.

This milestone demonstrates the impact of strong public-private partnerships working together to meet community needs.

Community leaders, partners, and residents came together this week to celebrate the grand opening of Riverview 220 and Grand Vista Place, two significant housing developments that expand access to affordable homes in Lansing and contribute to the overall growth of the area. Together, the projects re...

Still smiling after a great time at the Minnesota Affordable Housing Summit last week! ๐Ÿ โœจ

From meaningful conversations to new connections, the Summit was all about bringing partners together and strengthening relationships to advance affordable housing. Events like this remind us how important it is to engage across sectorsโ€”sharing ideas, learning from one another, and building the relationships that move projects forward.

Shanise Faust, Mike Witt, Emily Holl, Beth Baar, Grace Freitag, Chris Jillings, and Katlynn B. Kretz represented Cinnaire in conversations that left us energized and ready to keep the momentum going!

Cinnaire's Deb Toby and Donsia Strong Hill joined fellow leaders at The Leverage Network Inc.'s Executive Women of Color (EWOC) Summit last week, an inspiring gathering of women who are not only advancing their careers but shaping industries and driving meaningful impact. The conversations were powerful, especially alongside healthcare executives, where discussions highlighted housing as a critical social determinant of health and the importance of cross-sector collaboration to strengthen community outcomes.

Our team was also glad to connect with partners and peers, including Suzanne Shank and Gyasi C. Chisley. Grateful for spaces that foster connection, leadership, and bold ideas for change.
