I'm sure all of you Michigan residents remember getting $400 per vehicle checks from your insurance companies. This was a refund from the state of Michigan, not from the insurance companies. Well low and behold, the State of Michigan has announced that they sent too much money out and will be charging a per driver fee of next summer. The fee is a minimum of $48 and will go up to $122 if you selected the Unlimited PIP.

Just a reminder. If you’ve selected a PIP limit less than unlimited, you must select that limit each time your policy renews.

Remember to drive carefully in the snow. Even though mother nature is a big factor in car accidents, someone is still considered "at-fault" in every accident. This means you may have to pay your deductible. Stay safe!

We just had a customer call in and say that she is replacing her drain line that runs from the house to the city's system. She wondered if insurance covers this expense as it is going to cost her several thousand dollars. Most insurance companies do not offer this coverage but Auto Owners does! And its only $15/year.
