Heads up, Gulf Coast homeowners.
A new Wind Mitigation form went into effect April 1st and this is not a small update.
The new form requires significantly more detail, expanded documentation, and a higher level of accuracy than what inspectors were working with before.
That means if your inspection is not completed correctly by someone who is fully trained on the new requirements, it could delay the savings you are expecting on your homeowners insurance premium, or worse, you could end up paying for the inspection twice.
Before you schedule your next Wind Mitigation inspection, ask yourself one question. Is your inspector actually trained on the new form?
This is the kind of change that flies under the radar until it costs someone money. We are staying on top of it so our clients don't get caught off guard.
